A traveller, a storyteller, a granddad far from home
Somewhere between Ireland and Taiwan — somewhere between a kitchen table in Dublin and a street market in Taipei — there is a man who has been watching the world go by for a very long time.
Taiwan Granddad has worked and travelled across Asia for decades. Taiwan is home. But the stories come from everywhere — the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and all the places in between.
The grandchildren are in Ireland. They are growing up fast. And Asia is a long way away.
This site is a bridge. A place where a child in Ireland can find out why fireflies glow, how bubble tea is made, what a Japanese snow monkey gets up to in winter, and what the garbage trucks in Taipei sound like at seven in the morning.
The world is big and mostly good. The best way to understand it is to be curious about it. Come and look around. See what you find.
Somewhere in Asia, heading somewhere interesting.
